Brighten Up the Blahs With Our Colorful Products

Categories:

Brighten your January blahs with one of two of our colorful handcrafted bead and wire items or hand crocheted items. Keep yourself warm with a special beanie hat or even our hooded scarf sets for those stuck in the frozen tundra. Even in Florida, we have seen the roaring cold coming down to keep us all huddled under layers of blankets the past few weeks. We had only a few days respite and it’s coming again this coming week!

Just a note here for some of our customers on how we measure our items. Since we never really know a piece will turn out exactly we use the old measuring tape to type in the numbers in our descriptions. That’s for everything we list length and widths for including necklaces, bracelets, eyeglass chains as well as hats, scarves, gloves, etc. The measurements are not exact and we ask that our customers take a few minutes with a sewing measuring tape to find out if the item you are thinking about buying will fit the way you really want it to.

For instance, hats, we measure from the top center straight down to get the height of the hat and then along the bottom to get the circumference. The height will determine how deep the hat will fit over the back of your head while the circumference will tell you how snug it will be around your face. So take the tape measure and put it on the very top of your head and measure down one side to the point you want the hat to stop (Unless you want to roll it up, then you will need more height). Remember, if you want to cover your ears you will need a couple more inches than if you just want it to cover the top of your head. Scarves we measure the width of the sides, the entire length but not any fringes and for the hooded ones we include the measurement from the back of the head to the front across the top of the scarf so you can tell about how deep the hood will cover. Gloves are measured across the bottom to get the width and down the entire length.

Now this hat measures approximately 8 inches high by 20 inches around

And this hat measures approximately 6 inches high by 17 inches around.

Of course with beaded items, we measure from bead end to bead end but do not include the fasteners, findings or extra chains. Most earrings of all kinds we don’t really list the measurements as they are all between 1 to 2 inches long from the ear wires unless they are exceptionally longer than the others we have made in the past. Keychains we measure only the beaded part and not the rings or clips. Necklaces, eyeglass chains, anklets, and bracelets are also measured from bead end to bead end. Just take the tape measure, again, and wrap it around the body part you would like it to hang from and as snug or loose as you would like it to be to get the measurements you really would like. Some of our items may stretch a little while in use depending on how they are made.

Till next time keep warm and safe this winter.
