Going Live on Facebook With Your Shop

We finally went ‘LIVE’ for the first video walkthrough of our shop at the Chiefland Farmers Flea Market in Chiefland, Florida. It was by no means a slam dunk and I really should have practiced a little more before but for our first effort it wasn’t all that bad. For all my fellow crafters out there I just used my iPhone, clicked on my Facebook business page, and in the new post box, there is an option to “LIVE” post. I attached my phone to a tripod to try and keep it steady and while I was standing still even with the ‘not so great’ internet connection here at the market it recording fine. However, as I was moving around it went blurry which is a major bummer. Facebook will give you an option to edit the video before posting it to your page but anyone who was watching during the event will have already seen the errors.

You can watch on our Facebook Public Page

Store and Events Updates

We survived our first weekend at our new little shop located in the Chiefland Farmer’s Flea Market. Didn’t do much sales but got plenty of look-e-loos and gave away quite a few business cards. It is going to take time for people to get use to us being here and trying out our items. So in the mean time we will be posting updates on our social media and we still have two vendor events coming up real soon.

Where We Will Be This Weekend

Southern Women Crafts will be in downtown Lake City, Florida all weekend beginning Friday, February 15th from 9:00 am to about 10 or 11 pm and Saturday from 9:00 to 6 pm. The annual Olustee Blue and Gray Battle and Festival will be happening and there are lots of things for everyone to do and enjoy in and around town. The city and county officials will be closing the downtown area around Olustee Park around 5 pm on Thursday so that us vendors can come in and get set-up the night before. They provide security all throughout the event so we don’t have to worry about our items being stolen or our tents vandalized. Well, we hope so anyway. And it is so much easier to go in the day or night before an event to set up. That way all we have to do is come in the morning roll up our sides and be ready for the first customer.
