Taking Pictures of Your Products

Taking Pictures of Your Products

Taking Pictures of Your Products is so important to selling online and/or even getting people to come into your store to purchase in person. It does not matter the size of your store, whether or not you are a new business or even if you are selling services instead of physical products. People connect to pictures, video and music. That is a known fact. We want to experience our life and what we would like to include in our daily living with as many of our senses as we can include in one go.

Chiefland Shop Hours and Days Changing

Chiefland Shop Hours and Days Changing

From now until the end of September 2021, our Chiefland shop hours and days will be changing. The weather is just too dang hot to sit in a metal box for the weekend and there are just not enough shoppers to pay us to keep it open all the time. We will still have our online stores opened, of course, and anything you buy we will ship out on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays. When the weather cools off and the snowbirds come back in the late fall and winter months we will again be available every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 and to 3 pm.

In the meantime, we will announce on our Facebook page the morning we are able to open the shop during the summer months. Right now it is looking like once or twice a month on Saturdays. Please like, share, comment, and follow on our social media pages and this website to keep abreast of our happenings.

We will not be idle though. During the summer months, we often take all of our crocheted items down for cleaning. We wash and thoroughly dry each item, retag and take new pictures. This takes quite a bit of time and we usually go in groups. So, all the scarves will be done first, then hats, etc., etc., etc.  We will be increasing the inventory and the prices for all of our goods in the Fall. So, BUY NOW, before we have our product price increase.

If you have any questions or suggestions for our new Print-on-Demand line please use our CONTACT US form. We do try to weed out the spam mail we get from here so be patient if we accidentally spammed you. Just Direct Message us on Facebook with your email address and I will add you to the approved list.

Fun and Fabulous Handcraft Artist Sayings

With our new line we are in the process of creating we wanted to include some fun and fabulous handcraft artist sayings in memes for the t-shirts, hoodies, coffee cups, and any other type of merchandise we would like to add. And hopefully, between the two lines (our handcrafted items) we hope to be able to work out of a cozy craft studio on wheels. That has been my dream since we started this little adventure. If you would like to contribute to the new lines we are collecting sayings from our fellow handcraft artists.

How about the Top Ten Tips for Newbie Artists wanting to start their own business. We would like to collect craft artists’ tips and tricks, encouragement to other crafters, and even naysayers that we can turn into sarcastic comments. All submissions will be taken into consideration your name and/or website will be added as a contributor. We want to encourage more artists to jump in and create their own small businesses. You can comment below or send us an email from our Contact US form

We are also creating a new online store on our Workamping In Florida website. Now that is going to be so much fun to create the designs and sayings on more merchandise. They will be specifically designed from our pictures we have taken during our many years of travel and workamping. We will be posting links here and sharing all of our social media accounts. We might even make a couple of Tik Tok Videos too.

Vintage Crochet Patterns

Finally, we will be adding a shop for all my writer friends out there. I already have a bookstore at https://bookstore.jolenesbooksandmore.com will PDF versions of eBooks and actual paperback and hardback books that we own. We have quite an extensive collection of books that have been stored for a few years now. We could not bring them with us while we were RVing. Now we are selling off our collection and buying eBook versions for our Kindles. I am collecting my favorite quotes for and about writers and taking pictures of books, bookstores, and libraries to create designs for T-shirts, notebooks, writers’ workbooks, journals, bookmarks, and more.

Till next time, please like, share, comment, and send us your favorite sayings, quotes, etc. about crafters and handcrafts.

We Are Waiting on Spring

We Are Waiting on Spring

Are you waiting on the weather to get warmer? Even in Florida, we are waiting on Spring to come back. Once the cooler weather comes a little less often than it does we can get back to creating new items for our online shop. Sitting in the shop here in the Chiefland Farmers Flea Market during the cold months is kind of a challenge because we cannot turn on our little space heater. (Too many vendors on the same electric circuit trying to keep warm.) With my arthritis acting up it is kind of hard to get creative. Not that I don’t keep looking at new designs and dream of my own. I just hope I remember them when it’s time to get back to making new stuff,

We have learned over the last week that the U.S. Postal Service is experiencing a great many delays due to the weather, shortage of workers, and more people buying online all year long. One postal worker even told me that they are no longer guaranteeing overnight or priority 2 days deliveries for the foreseeable future! Please be patient or come on by our shop in Chiefland Farmers Flea Market – Saturday and Sunday – 10:30 am to around 3:00 pm both days.

For me and all of my fellow handcrafters out there we will be trying different things to get people to come in and shop in the store or even browse on my 2 online stores. I would rather have them purchase directly from my online store but the majority of my sales are still happening on my Amazon Handmade Store. Thank goodness they are still not charging a monthly fee for handcraft artists as they do for regular sellers.

Business Tips and Strategies

Amazon sends out emails giving us sellers suggestions on how we can improve our sales but most of those involve creating and paying for sponsor ads. The latest one involves uploading videos to our product pages. This requires that you change your account and register a trademark of your brand. I created a brand but to register it as a trademark requires a non-refundable application fee (a couple of hundred dollars), a lawyer (not required but strongly suggested), and re-registering every 5 years. It may be worth it to some of you out there but I am content with registering the Fictitious name every 5 years and paying for my domain. If I make more than just “mad” money then I will register as an LLC too.

For now, I am going to stick with just the free marketing ideas I want to try over the next couple of months. Namely, creating more “How to” and “See What we Have” videos and post them on my YouTube Channel. Create a schedule of postings on my social media pages involving pictures of our merchandise and fun sayings based on holidays and seasons. So stay tuned and subscribe to our news feed here on the store and our great blog: https://southernwomencrafts.com
