Now that we have opened our very own shop we may not have to go to all these events around the state to get the word out on what we are doing and showcasing our fine products. Of course, as soon as I pay off the trailer guy for my brand new 8.5 feet by 10 feet trailer with a removable hitch I will still want my brother to build us a nice little house on top of it so that we can still do a little traveling around the state in the fall and winter months. That still needs more money to get that completed so we can only try and sell as much as we can from our new one and pray everything works out before the end of summer. It would be really nice to attend one show a month with our “Shop on Wheels“.

We have been slowly building up our summer-time inventory for the Florida Folk Festival in White Springs at the end of this month. Three days of music, dancing, crafting and more all in the lovely state park setting. Yes, it is hot and humid during Memorial Day weekend but they have large misting fans set up all over the place along with water stations and all the buildings are opened so that visitors can duck in and cool off before going to the next event. Some vendors have mobile shops and this is a great venue to have one set-up but most will be in tents like us. We are still bringing our new pink tent with it’s pink walls but we will also be bringing a couple of fans and lights so we can stay late on Saturday night. Whether or not we will be sitting in the grass enjoying the music or sitting in our tent selling will depend on where the event coordinator places us. We will find that out on Thursday when we go over to check-in and get set up.

Over the last two weekends I have been adding more inventory to our eyeglass lanyard category, upcycled bottlecaps, guitar pick earrings and will be adding the last of the dragon scales arm warmers mom has made up to this point. Even though we will not be bringing them to the Florida Folk Festival I will be handing out lots of business cards hoping people will be ordering them online before the Christmas Holidays. I have moved the sewing machine over to the shop this weekend and hope to be completing more of our dragon scales purses. I have 29 of those colorful bags to do and one is already spoken for by one of the Chiefland Farmers Flea Market’s new vendor. I will have to do that one first and then get the rest done as soon as possible. We try to wash all our crocheted items prior to putting them up for sale and I will have to allow time for that as well. See our Crafting Blog for our next post on that.
